Skyfire hopes to bring today's Facebook-friendly, LinkedIn-connected, Tweeting users to new heights with the release of its new mobile browser for Android smartphones.

Skyfire 3.0 with Facebook Connect for Android 2.0 and higher devices features easy streaming of videos, quick news feed access, and an easy way to see the most popular articles on any site, according to the company. The new browser seamlessly integrates Facebook's social graph and like button onto every page of the Internet, allowing users -- with one click -- to quickly check their Facebook page, like or share any Internet content, see the most liked content on any site recommended by their friends or the general Facebook community, and view videos and other Facebook links posted by friends, Skyfire said on Tuesday.

"Skyfire 3.0 with Facebook Connect makes mobile browsing social," said Jeff Glueck, CEO of Skyfire. "This is just the latest innovation made possible by Skyfire's Rocket Platform and illustrates why Skyfire, as the first browser ever powered by a cloud service, is a must-have for smartphone users."

Skyfire for Android has almost 2 million users, the company said. The third-party app includes SkyBar, a cloud-powered toolbar that lets users watch video, view content, and share with friends. The new browser integrates Facebook directly into the SkyBar.

Other new features in Skyfire 3.0 include Fireplace feed reader, which delivers a filtered list of the Facebook feed that includes only links to browsable web pages, images, and videos posted by Facebook friends, as well as Popular Content, a button on the SkyBar that shows what is most popular within the entire Facebook community as well as a user's particular network of friends.

In addition, the Facebook like button appears on every page of the Internet so users can easily find it and "like" or "unlike" the page they are viewing or share it via Facebook, Twitter, or email. With Skyfire OneTouch Search, users input a term and then opt to search via Google, Facebook, VideoSurf, Digg, Twitter, or Amazon with one touch and without needing to navigate multiple sites. Also, using the tool's Facebook portal integration, users have single-touch access to their Facebook feed, profile, and Places services, Skyfire said.

Skyfire 3.0 with Facebook Connect for Android is now available for free for a limited time in the Android Market.
